Self-guided skills can help selected parents, but dropout matters

Population and setting
Be a Mom: 1,053 higher-risk postpartum women randomized to program or wait-list control.
What was found
Depression symptom change favored the program (-3.35 versus -1.48); anxiety symptoms also improved more.
Limits and applicability
Post-assessment completion differed substantially (267/542 versus 445/511). Bundled intervention; symptom change is not proof of universal prevention or an isolated compassion effect.
How directly does this apply?
direct-perinatal; attrition-sensitive
Gap between the study and our product
Make use low-friction and report who disengages; do not report only successful completers.
