Evidence and support

Tell the real story without performing recovery

Stories may offer meaning and connection. The clinical benefit of AI-made memory films has not been established.

Research preview · selected sources rechecked September 14, 2026 · independent clinical review pending. These editorial assessments are not formal GRADE ratings. No study here establishes an effect of Brighter Postpartum.

The important distinction

Keep adult support notes separate from child-facing keepsakes; never require a trauma narrative or public post.

Peer storytelling is promising design territory, not treatment proof

Population and setting
Formative research into online postpartum-depression communities.
What was found
Accounts suggest that stories can offer recognition, information and a sense of connection.
Limits and applicability
Preprint/formative evidence, self-selection and no causal PPD result. Stories may mislead, trigger or pressure readers.
How directly does this apply?
formative; unvalidated clinical benefit
Gap between the study and our product
Use consent, content choices and moderation; keep personal experience distinct from evidence.

Journaling is not a proven PPD prevention package

Population and setting
564 participants randomized to expressive writing, neutral writing or usual care.
What was found
No significant differences in the main outcomes at one or six months.
Limits and applicability
An optional journal can still be personally meaningful. Do not require trauma retelling or promise depression prevention.

Relational savoring can support connection in an adjacent population

Population and setting
164 mothers of toddlers, mean age about 21 months; four-week relational versus personal savoring.
What was found
Greater immediate gratitude/pride and closeness; later sensitivity to toddler cues improved. Overall parenting wellness did not improve at three months.
Limits and applicability
Toddler population, active comparator and narrow outcomes. Not a newborn-PPD trial or proof for photo montages.
How directly does this apply?
adjacent-parenting; mixed endpoints
Gap between the study and our product
Offer a brief invitation to revisit one genuine moment of connection; test the adapted format.

What should a child-facing letter communicate?

Affection, ordinary detail and hopes—not responsibility for a parent’s mental health.

Use this as information, not an assessment

Symptoms or concerns deserve appropriate professional care. Severe or worsening symptoms should not wait for an app, a quiz or a two-week threshold.
