Evidence and support

Make support a shared job, not more work for one parent

Coparenting programs support targeting how a household works, not only how a mother thinks about the workload.

The important distinction

The tested multi-session programs are not the same as a task app. In unsafe relationships, private support is more important than partner invitations.

Coparenting belongs in the intervention target

Population and setting
Family Foundations: 399 couples expecting a first child, nine-session prenatal/postnatal program.
What was found
Benefits were reported across multiple coparenting, parenting and adjustment outcomes.
Limits and applicability
Not every outcome improved; specific multi-session program and population. An app task board does not inherit the effect.
How directly does this apply?
direct-transition-to-parenthood; program-specific
Gap between the study and our product
Teach explicit task ownership and listening, while testing the simplified delivery separately.

Mothers described identity and achievement, not only symptom relief

Population and setting
54 mothers; ten qualitative focus groups after singing or creative-play programs.
What was found
Reported themes included shared creative experience, time for themselves, achievement/identity, perceived infant calming and bonding.
Limits and applicability
Retrospective accounts generate design hypotheses, not causal estimates; not every parent or baby has this experience.
How directly does this apply?
qualitative; no causal effect estimate
Gap between the study and our product
Offer something for the parent as a person, not another lesson on being a better caregiver.

What can a helper own?

Planning, doing and cleaning up a whole task; also, with permission, capture the parent in the family story.

Use this as information, not an assessment

Symptoms or concerns deserve appropriate professional care. Severe or worsening symptoms should not wait for an app, a quiz or a two-week threshold.
